The Application Center for Additive Manufacturing was inaugurated on May 31 2022 by Kristina Jonäng (C), chair of the regional development committee in the Västra Götaland region (read more here). The AM Center is now open to its partners and customers who wants to take advantage of cutting-edge expertise and infrastructure for additive manufacturing.
– We have worked quite some time to get all the pieces in place, and it feels fantastic to finally be able to inaugurated the AM Center. Now we are entering the next phase, working hands-on with the AM-technology as well as its eco-system together with our partners and customers to explore the benefits and solve various industrial challenges to push the technology more to the market, says Seyed Hosseini.

The Volvo Group has been evaluating 3D printing for many years, but still has only one component in mass production. The Group is now looking forward to exploring the opportunities afforded by the technology, as well as its limitations, together with other partners in the Application Center for Additive Manufacturing.

| The AM Center is now building up its infrastructure to meet all needs along the additive manufacturing value chain. For example, we offer hirtisation with H3000 from RENA Technologies. Hirtisation is a fully automated three step process, used to improve the surface quality and to automatically remove support structures after printing. |
