Join us on 20 November, 08:30–11:00 CET for the final online seminar of the Nordic BioBuz project – a pioneering initiative exploring how offshore wind, low-trophic aquaculture, and ecosystem-enhancing services can work together in the Baltic Sea. Throughout the project, we have piloted new methods, tested artificial reef prototypes, and developed a business model that could transform offshore wind infrastructure into active ecological assets.
We will share, among other things:
- Proof-of-concept results showing how blue mussels can turn steel foundations into thriving reef habitats
- Findings on biodiversity credits and nutrient compensation as new financial instruments for nature-positive energy
- A regenerative business model for multi-use demonstrating how biodiversity enhancement can strengthen the case for offshore wind
- Reflections on how Nordic collaboration can shape global policy and practice in a sustainable blue economy
