GREETINGS FROM THE CENTRE DIRECTOR
Finally, we have been able to meet in person again in NextBioForm. The consortium meeting in October attracted more than 40 participants to Sigtuna for two intense days with presentations from our young scientist, new partners and plenty of time for interaction.

INTERVIEW WITH PHD STUDENT INGRID RAMM
"It has been rewarding to see how my research is valuable for different applications in the industry"
"I am enjoying being a PhD student in NextBioForm. It is fun to be part of a large project and to learn from what the others are doing and by being close to the industry. I have learned a lot from the presentations by the industry partners, the mentor program, the NextBioForm courses, but foremost from attending various meetings."
New paper on the impact of glycerol on an affibody conformation and its correlation to chemical degradation
The interest in therapeutic proteins is increasing. However, proteins are fragile and needs to be stabilised against degradation to maintain their function. In this study, the influence of the excipient glycerol on the chemical degradation of protein in liquid formulations was examined. The results showed that glycerol strongly lowered the chemical degradation of a model protein by changing the tertiary structure of the protein. The results presented will help to develop better methods for the formulation and preservation of proteins.
